The TriSight executive board has been hard at work for the past six months, coming up with ideas for how to improve the agency for our students and clients. The launch of our beautiful new website is only just the start!
2013 marks 10 years since TriSight Communications was founded, so it’s the perfect time for a rebrand! Big thanks must go to vice president of internal relations, Andres Munt, for designing our gorgeous new logo. It’s a clean, modern look that we feel will help catapult TriSight forward.
Our mission is to provide students with hands-on learning opportunities that will enable them to develop the skills they need to succeed in the workforce and become leaders in the public relations industry, all while providing exemplary service to a diverse range of clients. This mission is very important to us and has been a compass in mapping out a new strategic direction for the agency in the 2013-2014 school year.
This blog will be a big element of that strategic direction. We want to speak more directly, and more frequently, with our members and become a valuable resource while they navigate university and a career in the communications field. There will be regular posts about industry trends, internship experiences and the great work members are doing on TriSight accounts.
We would like to encourage you, our members, to write your own blog posts for the site. Use it as a chance to explore a topic that fascinates you or showcase what you’ve learnt from your client work. Published writing samples are also a great addition to your portfolio. Our vice president of external relations, Lauren Alboini, will be the Editor in Chief of the blog and is looking for submissions for the coming semester. Please contact her at alboini@usc.edu if you have a blog idea you’d like to propose.
We also encourage you to take a look at our Facebook and Twitter pages and follow us if you have not already. Use them as a platform to start conversations with each other and share your learning experiences. If you already follow us, you may have noticed an increase in activity on these sites over the summer – we hope you’ve enjoyed reading the posts! Andres will be strengthening our social presence over the coming year and if you ever have an idea for a post that you think the TriSight community would be interested in, please feel free to share them with him at munt@usc.edu.
Another major part of our new strategic direction will be professional development events. Our vice president of events, Alene Istanboulian, will be working hard this year to bring you fun, educational sessions on topics directly related to agency work, taught by the best in the business. Want to finesse your skills in client relations, social media or pitching? We’ll be hosting sessions teaching you the ins and outs of these agency tasks. We also want to create more opportunities for TriSight members to come together to discuss the agency – and socialize too! If you would like to help with organizing these events or have a great idea for a professional or social event you’d like to share, please contact Alene at alene.istan@gmail.com.
To our clients – both current and future – we want to translate this improved student experience into real value for your business. We want to train our students to tackle the opportunities and challenges you bring to us with a mix of enthusiasm and talent. Our aim is for students and clients to feel like a part of the TriSight family. We truly believe that this will lead to successful campaigns and long-lasting relationships for TriSight, our students and our clients. Our vice president of accounts, Teresa Maxwell, will be an invaluable resource for clients this year, ensuring that goals are being met and the channels of communication are open at every step. She can be reached at tmmaxwel@usc.edu.
The six of us are excited for the year ahead and see big things in TriSight’s future. As your co-presidents, we are honored to be at the helm of this great USC Annenberg tradition and hope you’ll join us in making TriSight bigger and better than ever in its 10th year!
